Historical Society Hosts Hometown Author
Almost 40 people turned out to the Hawthorne Historical Society’s March meeting last night to hear a presentation by author and former Hawthorne resident George Joynson speaking about his book, Murders in Monmouth: Capital Crimes from the Jersey Shore’s Past.
Joynson described how he got started writing the book, how the stories came together, and how it feels to work with a publisher. He also signed copies of the book for interested attendees. The event was very well-received by the large audience. Thanks go to the author, and to the Friends of the Library, with whom we co-sponsored the event. And thanks go to all who made it out to the library last night.
Mark your calendar: Our next meeting is Monday, April 14th at 7p at the Library. Hope to see you there!
The Hawthorne Historical Society meets the second Monday of every month at 7p at the Louis Bay 2nd library and community center. All are welcome.
